The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council Fall will hold a Fall Cleanup event between Lyman Ave and Hillside Ave in Johnston along the Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Johnston residents are invited to come out to the Johnston section of the 5.5 mile Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway Bike Path. The clean up will focus on the area between Lyman Avenue in Johnston to Hillside Avenue. Show your support of the path by helping to raise a sign at the Lyman Avenue entrance that displays the path’s designated parking area, plant bulbs for Spring, help pick up litter, and remove graffiti.
The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council invites the citizens of Johnston to join this project. All ages are welcome. Registration will be at two locations - if you’re driving, park and register at the Hillside Ave entrance of the bike path, or you can register at the Lyman Avenue entrance (there is no parking there). Registration begins at 9:00, and the cleanup will end at 12:30pm, followed by lunch for volunteers! Brewed Awakenings will provide coffee and pastry, Ronzios will provide pizza and bulbs were donated by Home Depot.
